now can watch scene guardians galaxy everyones talking of the groot
It’s worth noting right up front that the clip being discussed here — which was released by Marvel Studios this week via Yahoo Movies — comes from the very end of Guardians of the Galaxy, so if you haven’t seen the movie yet, you should go buy a ticket right now, see it as soon as possible (because it’s fantastic), and come right back here to watch the clip. Don’t worry. We’ll stick around.

Good? Okay, then…

It’s difficult not to appreciate Marvel’s willingness to release this particular scene (embedded below) featuring a ridiculously cute Baby Groot dancing to Jackson 5’s “I Want You Back” while Drax the Destroyer (Dave Bautista) sharpens a massive knife in the background. Even though the scene is a bit of a spoiler for the film, it’s quickly become one of the most talked-about moments, and inspired quite a few industrious fans to create their own (dancing and non-dancing) versions of Baby Groot.

“It was initially written as a tag for the very end of the film,” said Guardians of  the Galaxy director James Gunn in a statement released with the clip. “But after we shot it, it worked so well I wanted to put it at the actual end of the film so none of the audience would miss it.”

More than anything else, the decision to release the clip is a great example of the way Marvel not only listens to the conversations surrounding its films, but more importantly, reacts to the conversation.

And while there was much speculation that Groot voice actor Vin Diesel provided the motion-capture performance for his on-screen counterpart, Gunn confessed that he was the model for Baby Groot’s slick dance moves.

“Baby Groot dancing is 100 percent me,” he confessed. “I was too embarrassed for anyone to be there, so I made everyone leave the room and I set up a camera and I videotaped myself dancing. Then I sent the video to the animators and had them animate over that. I begged them not to leak the video! Two of my closest friends came to an early screening and said ‘Hey, I recognize those moves! That’s you dancing, isn’t it?!'”

Guardians of the Galaxy is currently in theaters and has already grossed more than $330 million at the global box office.

Who dies at the end of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3?
Nebula carries Star-Lord's limp body in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3.

It's the end of an era. Nearly a decade ago, Guardians of the Galaxy changed the MCU forever and introduced the world to a band of a-holes who, over the course of several movies, grew into a family. Star-Lord, Rocket Raccoon, Gamora, Drax the Destroyer, Groot, Mantis, and Nebula have become sentimental favorites to MCU fans and helped usher in the cosmic side of Marvel that is the dominant playground for Phase 5.

When things come to an end, however, that usually means someone bites the big one. And certainly, in the press and trailers for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, there's a strong indication that death will visit one or more of our beloved Guardians. Zoe Saldana has openly spoken about being done with playing Gamora, one of the MCU's best female characters, after this movie; ditto Dave Bautista with Drax. And one of the key promo images for the movie has Nebula carrying Star-Lord's limp body. Did I also mention one of the key plot points involves Rocket being mortally wounded?

When a certain type of movie ends, audiences know it's not time to leave the theaters just yet. It's now a ritual for audiences to linger after the end credits roll for superhero movies and even "regular" movies like John Wick: Chapter 4, as they know there will be one or two (or in some cases, more) "stingers" that tease about the endless sequels and cinematic universes that dominate the pop culture landscape. Marvel perfected the art of the end credits sequence in The Avengers, with the reveal of Thanos as the architect behind a grand scheme to collect all the Infinity Stones.

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 is certain to continue this tradition when it's released on May 4. The last film in James Gunn's trilogy, Vol. 3 has fans curious about what will happen to the beloved team in what appears to be their final adventure together. Does the film have any post-end credits scenes? And if so, what do they reveal about the future of the Guardians and the MCU? Find out by reading below!
