Not to be outdone by Sprint’s revamped Framily plan, Verizon quietly announced a new individual plan for those who don’t need the world when it comes to data consumption.

The new plan includes unlimited voice minutes, unlimited text messaging, and 2GB of data for $60 per month. However, you’ll want to pay attention as to how much data you decide to use, as overage charges reach $15 per extra Gigabyte consumed. If you own a smartphone with Verizon Edge, you will get $10 off the monthly access.

Interestingly, Verizon also announced that it will add an extra gigabyte of data for those who sign up for a new data plan. In order to take advantage of the deal, you’ll need to either upgrade your phone or activate a smartphone on a More Everything plan with at least 1GB of data. The offer also works with the recently-announced $60 plan.

If you opt to take advantage of the deal, the free gigabyte is recurring. In other words, for the life of your new contract, you’ll receive that extra gigabyte every month. While that gigabyte might not seem like much, Verizon reminds us that it lets you watch two movies, make 2,000 visits to the Internet, or watch 10 hours of live NFL games.

Visible just added a new plan, lowered prices, and took away a huge feature

Visible has a significant revamp to its Verizon-backed phone service, adding new features and taking away some at the same time. Up until now, the company prided itself on its singular all-digital plan, but now Visible's single wireless plan has been reworked to cost less and is being offered alongside a brand new option. The two plans now available are called Visible, the reworked original plan, and the all-new Visible Plus.

The Visible plan includes unlimited talk, text, data, and hotspot for just $30 per month — a reduced price from the $40 per month the plan used to cost. The other plan is Visible Plus, which includes 5G Ultra Wideband access, a first for the company's offerings. Visible Plus also includes 50GB of "premium network experience," roaming coverage in North America, and global calls to more than 30 countries outside of the U.S. You get all of that for $45 per month, just $5 more than the cost of the old Visible plan and $10 more compared to the new one.

Verizon’s new Welcome Unlimited plan makes 5G data a lot more affordable

Verizon is rolling out an even more affordable 5G plan for customers looking for unlimited data without all the extra frills in its Mix & Match plans.

For as little as $30 per month for each line (when signing up for four lines with Auto Pay), the new Welcome Unlimited plan includes all the basics that most users need — including unlimited data, talking, and texting. The plan is separate from Verizon's Mix & Match Unlimited plans and lacks the features of those more expensive options, such as mobile hotspot data and streaming service bundles.
