Apple’s just released iOS 8.0.2 in a bid to address the issues that landed with iOS 8.0.1 on Wednesday. It also includes improvements and fixes for various iOS 8 features.

According to the release notes, the update fixes the problem with iOS 8.0.1 that hit cellular network connectivity and the Touch ID feature on the new iPhone 6 and 6 Plus handsets, and sorts out a bug that means HealthKit apps removed last week from the App Store can once again be downloaded to devices.ios 8.0.2

An issue that prevented some apps accessing images from the Photo Library has also been dealt with, as has a bug that saw third-party keyboards become deselected when a user entered their passcode.

Whether you’re brave enough to download it now or would prefer to wait and see what becomes of others who take the courageous step, let’s hope Apple has thoroughly tested this update.

After the fiasco of iOS 8.0.1 and the #Bendgate mess, not to mention the recent iCloud calamity and HealthKit botch, the last thing the Cupertino company needs is another string of damaging headlines.
