It may seem a bit early for Christmas shopping, but you’ll need some time to save up (or plan a bank robbery) to afford this gift.
Every year, there is at least one car in the tome of excess that is the Neiman Marcus Christmas Book. It’s always a special edition, and often sells out within minutes.
Neiman Marcus has offered everything from a Chevrolet Camaro to an Aston Martin Vanquish Volante, but this year a Maserati Ghibli S Q4 will grace the pages of this rarefied catalog.
The Ghibli will not only celebrate the holiday season, but also Maserati’s 100th anniversary. Hence the unwieldy name: 100th Anniversary Neiman Marcus Limited-Edition Maserati Ghibli S Q4.
So what do you get for all of those words?
The special-edition is distinguished by Grigio Maratea (gray) paint, black grille surround, and red brake calipers. The interior features a 1,280-watt Bowers & Wilkins audio system, seats with the Maserati trident stitched into the headrests, and a plaque confirming the car’s special status.
There are no mechanical changes, so the Neiman Marcus edition still features a 3.0-liter twin-turbocharged V6, connected to an eight-speed automatic transmission and all-wheel drive.
With 404 horsepower and 406 pound-feet of torque on tap, the Ghibli should be able to rival Santa’s sleigh with a 0 to 60 mph time of 4.7 seconds, and a top speed of 175 mph.
Christmas shoppers will also get exclusivity. Only 100 units will be sold. Neiman Marcus will begin taking orders October 22, and is asking $95,000 for the Ghibli.
That’s a little under $20,000 over the price of a standard Ghibli S Q4, but not too unreasonable considering how much manufacturers sometimes charge for special editions that only offer exclusivity and snazzy paint for the inflated price.
