Lenovo keeps adding more tablets to its Yoga lineup in a variety of shapes and sizes. The latest addition comes in the form of an 8-inch Yoga Tablet 2 with Windows 8.1 and AnyPen technology.
Lenovo’s smallest Windows Yoga Tablet 2 features many of the same specifications as the other tablets in this lineup, but it comes with a few new bells and whistles. The tablet features an 8-inch Full HD screen with AnyPen technology, which allows users to write on the screen with any ballpoint pencil or pen that conducts electricity. The screen is quite durable, but you’ll still want to be careful not to scratch it, Lenovo says.
The new Yoga Tablet 2 is powered by a 64-bit Intel Atom quad-core processor and 2GB of RAM. Lenovo’s new tablet also sports Dolby and Wolfsen Hi-Fi speakers. The rest of the specs are the same as the other tablets in the Yoga Tablet 2 line. It has 32GB of internal storage, a MicroSD card slot, as well as an 8-megapixel rear camera and a 1.6-megapixel front-facing camera.
The 8-inch Yoga Tablet 2 with Windows gets up to 15 hours of battery life, thanks to the cylindrical battery pack. It weighs just 0.96 pounds and measures 2.7 – 7 mm thick. Like all of Lenovo’s other Yoga tablets, this one includes a built-in kickstand that allows you to set the tablet up in four different modes. You can even hang the Yoga Tablet 2 from a hook on the wall if you want to watch your favorite TV show in the tub or follow a new recipe in the kitchen.
Lenovo priced the new tablet at $300 and plans to sell the device in January 2015. We’ll take a look at it during CES, so stay tuned for more info.
