Celebrate with Dodge as SRT Hellcats send off 2014 with a smokey salute

Dodge is kicking off the new year with a compilation video of some of its favorite SRT Charger and Challenger Hellcat burnouts, and thats pretty much all the context you need to enjoy the above video.

Whether the 6.2-liter supercharged HEMI V8 is found in the 2015 Challenger or the four-door Charger, it still produces 707 horsepower and delivers 650 pound-feet of torque to the rear wheels. When it comes to burnouts, that’s like using half a bag of curry power when the recipe calls for a spoonful.

If you manage to get the tires to grip on the Challenger, the muscle car can launch from 0 to 60 in less than four seconds, as well as do a quarter mile run in 10.8 secs. That’s roughly the same for the SRT Charger Hellcat by a few fractions of a second.

The burnouts in the video are all quite satisfying to watch, as well as the accompanying exhaust note soundtrack (which would be better without the generic electro-synth overlay). If you’ve got access to either one of these monstrous behemoths and a spacious venue that allows such activities, you can join in on the fun.

Just don’t hit anything.
