Destiny’s infamous loot cave is back from the dead and hungry for brains in Dying Light

dying light loot cave easter egg
Eagle-eyed survivors have found a loot cave (like the infamous Destiny exploit) in Dying Light, the latest open world zombie survive ’em up from Dead Island developer Techland. Don’t worry about the spot being shut down by the developer, though, because this one is an easter egg in reference to Bungie’s hit shooter.

The cave is tucked away to the north and east of the slums. Hopping a fence and swimming through an underwater passage will bring you to a small cave filled with goodies. On finding it, the message “Your destiny is to build your legend (and get loot)” pops up to poke fun at the blockbuster shooter. Apparently there are multiple pathways in the area leading to numerous small caves, so be sure to explore thoroughly while you’re there. Kill enough zombies in the cave and the game slaps you on the wrist and says “Enough! Patch 1.0.2 has been released! Do more quests!”

Destiny‘s so-called Loot Cave was an area found early in the game’s life where players could camp out with their gun trained on a cave opening that would infinitely spawn enemies. Engrams accumulate as the players shoot down the endless stream of fodder, serving as a reasonably efficient and easy way to grind out loot. Bungie patched the cave out after it became popular, kicking off the endless game of tug-of-war between the min-maxing players looking for the paths of least resistance within the game and the developers trying to maintain balance and discourage degenerate strategies.

Everything we know about Dying Light 2

Dying Light, by developer Techland, was a fast-paced, action zombie game that gave players the freedom to explore a zombie-infested world like no other. The game garnered a strong fanbase of 70 million players. So, it was not surprising when, three years later, Dying Light 2 was announced. The game was originally planned to be released at the end of 2019, but through a series of unfortunate events, that was delayed indefinitely. Thanks to some new announcements, though, we have a much better look at this exciting sequel.

The game seems to continue where Dying Light left off. A lot of concepts from the original make their way into the sequel, but Techland improved and expanded on the world. We may not know everything about the upcoming game, but there is a lot we do know. Here's what we know so far about Dying Light 2 Stay Human.

How to revive dead companions in Baldur’s Gate 3
Withers offering services to the player in Baldur's Gate 3.

You're given a good bit of leeway during battles in Baldur's Gate 3 before you or a companion actually bites the dust for good. While in battle, if a teammate does take enough damage to drop, they aren't dead then and there. Instead, they will be downed with a chance to roll every turn to get back up. If they roll successfully three times, the battle ends, or you use another character to pick them up, they're good. If they fail that roll three times, however, they will be completely dead. That can be harsh when you've become attached to certain characters and want to further their stories, so you'll be looking for any way you can to bring them back. Thankfully you do have a few options for reviving companions in Baldur's Gate 3, but just like respeccing, they aren't so obvious.
Pay Withers to bring them back

Withers is a friendly undead you can find in a secret room in the Dank Crypt found inside the Overgrown Ruins. After finding and speaking to him in his sarcophagus, he will offer you various services, one of which is bringing back any dead companions. He won't do this out of the kindness of his heart (probably because it isn't beating) and will charge you a heavy fine of 200 gold to do so. Still, that's a small price to pay to bring back a beloved character. Once paid, that character will appear in your camp where they would normally be, so there's no need to go back to their corpse and find them.
