Previously, the only unlimited package that Amazon offered was the photo one, which was exclusive to Amazon Prime members, being part of the $100 per year package. That package does come with a number of other benefits, like cheaper instant video selections and free postage, but now if you just want to back up a lot online, you can do so for much less.
Better yet, you aren’t limited to just photos. While the image only unlimited package is still there, those wanting to store videos, documents, music and anything else they can think of, can do so for much less than a standard Prime membership costs.
“Most people have a lifetime of birthdays, vacations, holidays, and everyday moments stored across numerous devices. And, they don’t know how many gigabytes of storage they need to back all of them up,” said Josh Petersen, Director of Amazon Cloud Drive in a statement. “With the two new plans we are introducing today, customers don’t need to worry about storage space—they now have an affordable, secure solution to store unlimited amounts of photos, videos, movies, music, and files in one convenient place.”
Files can be uploaded from a smartphone – Fire, iOS or Android – tablet or PC, and if you are unsure about any of it, Amazon is even offering a three month free trial for both packages, which anyone can sign up for.
