Shortly after announcing detailed pre-order information for its much anticipated smartwatch, Apple on Friday rolled out four ‘guided tour’ videos geared toward explaining why you might want to once again put a watch on your wrist.

With the smartwatch still a relatively new concept for many consumers, the Cupertino company will be hoping the short presentations clarify the Apple Watch’s features and functionality, and in doing so persuade a few more people to part with upwards of $350 for the device.

The first video, at 4:45 the longest of the four, offers an overview of Apple’s very first wearable, with the chirpy narrator sounding off about some of its “amazing new interactions and technologies that make Apple Watch super-easy to use when you’re on the move.”

The company is clearly keen to press home the idea that its watch is ideal for “brief interactions,” rather than anything particularly intensive. “It lets you quickly do things you’re used to doing on your phone, but in a more convenient, less obtrusive, way,” the narrator explains.

The video also points out how the watch can do things your phone can’t, like give you a discreet tap when you receive a notification, or send a friend or loved one a digital representation of your heartbeat, though we’re not exactly sure why you’d want to do this, other than to confirm to them that you’re still alive.

The opening video certainly does a good job of covering the basics, and is well worth a look if you’re at all curious about the Apple Watch but still don’t know much about what it can do.

The other three videos, each of which runs no longer than two minutes, offer more in-depth information on how to manage messages using the Apple Watch, how to personalize it by changing the watch faces, and how to use Digital Touch, the feature that “lets you communicate with the people you care about” by sending sketches, tap patterns, and the aforementioned heartbeat.

Seven more videos – currently listed as “coming soon” – cover even more of the watch’s functionality, including Maps, Siri, Activity, and how to use it to buy stuff via Apple Pay.

Apple Watch Series 7 has resolved production issues and will launch this month
Apple Watch 7 prototype.

MacRumors is reporting Apple has resolved its Apple Watch Series 7 production issues and will begin producing and launching the new model this month, according to Apple Insider analyst Ming-Chi Kuo. Nikkei Asia and Bloomberg reported there could have been delays because of these production issues. Bloomberg journalist Mark Gurman recently tweeted the device will be available in limited quantities at launch.

The watch has a new, more durable display panel and a contact design instead of the older cable design. It has a flat-edged look modeled after the designs of the iPhone 12 and iPad Pro. This created a more complicated production process.

Apple Watch Series 7 set to launch in limited quantities alongside iPhone 13
prime day apple watch price predictions

The Apple Watch Series 7 is set to launch during the "California Streaming" iPhone 13 event on September 14, Bloomberg's Mark Gurman reports in his Power On newsletter. There was no confirmation of a launch earlier since the "complicated designs" of the new smartwatch caused production delays.
This new launch announcement could lead to three possibilities, Gurman says: 1) The Apple Watch Series 7 launch will be postponed until the company has tackled its production challenges, or 2) the launch will happen but on a smaller scale, with the device available in limited quantities, or 3) the device will launch as expected. but won’t be available for some time.

Either way, users will receive confirmation during the virtual livestreamed event to be held 10 a.m. PT on Tuesday, September 14.
The Apple Watch Series 7 was earlier rumored to offer blood pressure monitoring (among other health-tracking features), but Gurman quickly refuted the possibility with a two-word tweet: “No chance.”
Despite this disappointing turn of events, users still have something to be excited about. The redesigned hardware of the Apple Watch Series 7 will feature flat edges and larger 41mm and 45mm displays, compared to the current 40mm and 44mm displays.  The watch is said to feature a "new lamination technique," allowing its display to be raised closer to the top cover.
Some users speculate that the large screen feature would allow Apple to launch fresh exclusive watch faces for the new series. Finally, it is also expected to have faster processors and improved battery life, offering more value for the money.
Watch the official Apple event for more information about the iPhone 13, the Apple Watch 7, and possibly even the AirPods 3 launch.
