The ad is designed to look just like the Apple Watch commercials, complete with a similar-sounding male voiceover that touts the benefits of the fictional Netflix Watch, and a catchy tagline: “The Netflix Watch: where you watch Netflix.”
So what are the benefits of the Netflix Watch? It’s essentially an iPhone strapped to your wrist, allowing you to watch your favorite shows and movies (naturally, all Netflix content) at every opportunity. Two business colleagues shake hands and bond over the fact that they’re both enjoying House of Cards from their wrist. A teenager hugs her clearly upset mom while stealthily keeping up with her favorite program, Orange is the New Black, literally behind her back. But the best scenario involves two guys at a urinal and a little bit of BoJack Horseman. It’s best you watch for yourself.
Make sure to watch for the full minute and four seconds to check out the product that’s coming soon – it’s even more hilarious.
The Apple Watch will launch in the U.S. on April 24, but those who are interested in grabbing one of the iterations, including the Edition (if you have a spare $10,000 to part with) can see them at Apple Stores starting tomorrow. You just need to book an appointment in advance, then get a full demo, and a chance to try them on for size.
Jokes aside, Netflix is, of course, accessible through a wide range of Apple products through the dedicated app, and icon on Apple TV.
