When it comes to the App Store, it can be challenging to find the best iPhone games. To help out, here’s our roundup of the games we think are worth downloading and playing this week. No matter your personal preference — whether it’s a brain teasing puzzle game, an endless runner, an educational game, or just a good old shoot ’em up — we’ve got you covered.
Here are our top 5 best iPhone games you should play this weekend:
Fortress Fury
Fortress Fury is a new strategy game developed created by YouTube’s CaptainSparklez (Jordan Maron). In it you explore the fantasy land of Forterra, where you can summon soldiers and build fortresses using arcane magic. Players can choose from thousands of weapons to help defend homes from attackers, and energy crystals are used to boost players potential. Energy crystals can be earned in-game, or purchased using real money.
Madden NFL Mobile
The Madden NFL Mobile app by EA Sports will give football fans the ultimate football experience. Players can choose their favorite NFL players, build the perfect team, and take on their friends in exciting shootouts. In the latest update, you can play Live Events all off-season long, and win awesome rewards.
Dungeon Hunter 5
Dungeon Hunter 5 is, unsurprisingly, the sequel to Dungeon Hunter 4, released way back in April 2013. The game is based around your mission to become known as the notorious Bounty Hunter. This is a AAA game for the iPhone, and has a single player mode where you battle through five different worlds, plus a co-operative gameplay mode, with daily and weekly events. You can also challenge friends in the asynchronous multiplayer mode.
Nom Cat
Nom Cats is a cute, easy to play arcade game, in which you feed Nom Cat with endless waves of delicious fish. The more fish Nom Cat eats, the higher your score. However, you’ll need to avoid the flying bombs, otherwise, well, it won’t be pretty. The retro look is fun, and there are lots of Nom Cat characters to unlock, with more promised in future updates.
Fruit Ninja Academy: Math Master
This is a spin-off game of the massively popular Fruit Ninja, this time with an educational twist. In Fruit Ninja Academy: Math Master, kids are encouraged to learn math in an engaging, fun way. It’s set in jungles, temples and ancient ruins, where the idea is to help a curious and hungry pig called Truffles and his friends rescue the Lost tablets of Frutasia. Aimed at children aged five to seven, there are puzzles to help with addition, subtraction and multiplication skills.
That’s it for this week, but stay tuned for next week’s list.
