The third DLC expansion for Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare, Supremacy, arrives in June, adding four new maps and the next chapter in the Exo Zombies saga.

This time around, cult acting legend Bruce Campbell (The Evil Dead, Bubba Ho-Tep, Xena: Warrior Princess) joins the all-star cast of Exo Zombies, which already includes John Malkovich (Being John Malkovich), Bill Paxton (Apollo 13), Rose McGowan (Grindhouse), and Jon Bernthal (The Walking Dead). This new chapter, Carrier, appears to put the crew onto an aircraft carrier, one that is of course swarming with zombies. Groovy.

Supremacy also adds four new multiplayer maps to the mix. All of them feature the new Exo Grapple mechanic, which is an exo ability that lets you shoot and retract a powerful grappling hook in order to zip around the level like Spider-Man.

Kremlin is set and around Moscow’s famous presidential palace. A war-torn Red Square is divided into three lanes, with the surrounding buildings providing cover and high ground. You might need them for shelter once the mid-match minefield is activated.

Parliament takes you to another European capital, this time along the river Thames in the heart of London. Big Ben smokes in the background as you struggle for control over a military cargo ship. Watch out for the barrage of missiles that will rain down if one team takes control of the map-based scorestreak.

Skyrise will see you doing battle in yet another classic European city. Based on the fan-favorite map Highrise from Modern Warfare 2, this map places players in an Atlas Skyscraper overlooking the Acropolis in Athens, Greece. The addition of exoskeleton abilities will turn up the temperature in this intense, close-quarters map.

Last but not least, Compound is for when you want to get out of the city and catch a little fresh air in the Colorado wilderness. Don’t expect it to be a relaxing visit, however, since this Atlas training facility is a small, symmetrical map which encourages fast-paced combat.

As usual, Xbox gamers get a first crack at the Supremacy DLC, which will be available via Xbox Live on June 2. PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, and PC gamers will have to wait until June 25 to join the action.

Xbox Game Pass is getting its first Call of Duty game

Xbox isn't waiting until Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 to get a Call of Duty game on Game Pass. The company announced Tuesday that 2023's Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 will be added to the service on Wednesday, July 24.

The announcement was heavily rumored beforehand, with reports from outlets like Insider Gaming, but it was made official on Xbox Wire. Xbox confirmed that the game will be hitting Game Pass for Console, PC Game Pass, and Game Pass Ultimate (so every old tier ahead of the upcoming price hike), and it will include most modes, including single-player and the more open-world Zombies mode. It doesn't appear to include Warzone, the series' battle royale spinoff, although that's free to play.

The stakes have never been higher for Call of Duty. With the series officially under Microsoft’s wing and being heralded as Xbox’s biggest first-party franchise, the next entry needs to deliver. That would be stressful enough as is, but it's doubly anxiety-inducing for developer Treyarch. Not only is it ushering in a new era for Xbox, but it’s about to release a foundation-shaking moment for the franchise at large with Call of Duty: Black Ops 6.

At first glance, the latest entry in the long-running shooter series might just seem like another Call of Duty game, a reliable product spit out of a well-oiled machine. That’s not exactly the case. Black Ops 6 is more of a reinvention than it looks, turning the military shooter into a full-on spy thriller. A tonal shift like that isn’t just a matter of writing a blockbuster story filled with political intrigue. It requires a deeper overhaul of how fans actually play Call of Duty. And that’s exactly what Treyarch is delivering.

A squad stands together in Call of Duty: Black Ops 6.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 will bring back several fan-requested features when it launches this fall. That list includes a Classic Prestige progression system, a round-ending Best Kill clip, and more.

Developed by Treyarch, Black Ops 6 is the first Call of Duty game being released fully under Xbox's Activision ownership. With the stakes high, there's a lot of pressure on Treyarch to deliver this year. It looks as though the studio is taking that task seriously, as Black Ops 6 seemingly takes years of fan feedback and requests into account.
