Live sport is one of the areas where Twitter excels, and the platform is making sure it’s all set for the start of Wimbledon next week. In honor of what it calls “the most prestigious tennis tournament in the world,” Twitter is putting out four new emojis that you can start using now, as announced via Serena Williams’ timeline.

Tweeting #Wimbledon will generate a small tennis racquet symbol in your tweet, and you can add #TheQueue (for waiting in line), #TheHill (for watching from the famous Henman Hill) and #TheWorld (for watching from anywhere else). Twitter says it’s going to roll out new symbols as the tournament progresses.

Make use of #TheHill and you could even see a selfie of yourself up on the big screen in the SW19 corner of London. In a blog posting announcing the new feature, Twitter is also keen to push the benefits of using Periscope and Vine to keep up to date with the latest action on court. Roger Federer and Maria Sharapova are among the stars involved in various Twitter promotions.

Bringing out customized emojis is something Twitter has done several times in the past — when promoting the release of Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens, for example. The idea is that the colorful icons help drive real-time conversation and immediate response, where Twitter still beats the likes of Instagram and Facebook.

Whether it’s a Tim Tebow pass or a soccer tournament broadcast across the globe, Twitter has found a lot of success by associating itself with sporting events, something it’ll want to continue at Wimbledon until July 12. The company itself could use a boost right now: CEO Dick Costolo stepped down from his position earlier this month, with a successor still to be named.

A series of mobile screenshots showing off the Threads app on a black background.

Threads is here and already has millions of sign-ups, no doubt due to the ease of its joining process, its immediate availability for both Android and iOS users, and the fact that its user interface shares lots of familiar features with its main competitor, Twitter.
