G-Wagons For Sale | Vintage Mercedes-Benz G-Class Pictures

For more than three decades, the Mercedes-Benz G-Class has been an icon of status, capability, and style. Everyone from military officers to hip-hop moguls has advocated for the long-standing German SUV, and with a new version expected to arrive in 2017, vintage models — especially those in good condition — will be harder and harder to come by.

A New Jersey company called G-wagons For Sale is hoping to change that by offering restored and refurbished G-Class vehicles from the 1980s, ranging from plaid-laden civilian models to troop-carrying military versions with rear-mounted bench seats. The G-Class, also known as the G-Wagen, G-Wagon, Puch G, or Geländewagen, has worn many hats over its 35-year tenure, and that diversity is reflected in the brand’s portfolio.

Take the 1989 G230 for example, pictured above. G-wagons For Sale founders Vitaly Fargesen and Viktor Prozorov have restored the vehicle back to near-original condition, right down to the epic checkered interior and factory gauges. Like a colonial townhouse with flat screen TVs, the G230 is a nice mix of old and new, evidenced by the JVC stereo and modern Varta battery.

If you’re interested in going on safari, check out the beautiful tan 1989 Puch G250 Diesel, which has been fitted with extra seating, a spare jerry can, and a good old-fashioned axe. They just don’t make them like this anymore.
