These gadgets and fashion in Spectre let you live out the fantasy of being 007

Everyone’s favorite psychopathic, Cold War dinosaur is back, looking stylish as ever as he sends more villains and henchmen to their untimely doom. If you can’t help fantasizing about being a suave, British secret agent, jet-setting through a world of impeccable suits, fast cars, deadly guns, and tempting gadgets, then you might be interested in all the gear Bond employs in his latest outing, Spectre.

The thrill of dismantling a super villain’s nefarious plan will have to remain vicarious, but if you have deep enough pockets, you can get your hands on most of Bond’s Spectre gear. Consider that this movie had a budget of $300 million, and you’ll understand why a product placement party was necessary to raise the funds.

Omega Seamaster 300 Spectre Limited Edition ($6,350)

Omega Seamaster 300 Spectre Limited Edition

When it comes to timepieces, Bond likes an Omega, and he wears two different models during the course of Spectre, both made specially for the film. The Omega Seamaster 300 Spectre Limited Edition is stainless steel with a ceramic bezel and a NATO strap. It’s resistant to magnetic fields up to 15,000 gauss. You’ll find a wee 007 gun logo on the strap holder, and “SPECTRE” engraved on the back. Omega is only making 7,007 of them. He also wears the slightly cheaper Omega Aqua Terra Limited Edition ($6,150) which incorporates the Bond family coat of arms.

Tom Ford Ivory Windsor Tuxedo Jacket ($5,200)

Bond’s tailor of choice is Tom Ford, and all of his clothing in Spectre is bespoke, naturally. You don’t see many white dinner jackets nowadays, but Bond can wear what he likes – and carry it off with aplomb. You’ll need to go to a Tom Ford store to find most of the things Bond wears in the movie, but some are available online at Harrods, including the O’Connor suit he wears in the opening sequence – a snip at $4,229 – or the Herringbone overcoat he wears to meet M, which costs $4,287.

Sony Xperia Z5 ($800)

Sony Xperia Z5

One of the most interesting stories behind the film’s gadgets concerns Bond’s smartphone, because it doesn’t ever actually appear in Spectre. Officially, Bond’s phone is the Xperia Z5 by Sony, but there was argument about it, with Daniel Craig reportedly saying the previous model, the Xperia Z3+, wasn’t “cool enough” for 007, despite being offered $5 million personally to promote it. Rival manufacturer Samsung apparently offered $50 million to try and get Bond to don a Gear S2 and use the Galaxy S6, but to no avail. We don’t know how much Sony paid in the end, but the Xperia Z5 never made the final cut. Sony had to make do with a Moneypenny advert, which also features the Sony RX100 IV camera.

We’re surprised it wasn’t the more expensive Xperia Z5 Premium, but presumably Bond isn’t convinced by the phone’s 4K display. Vodafone is offering a special Xperia Z5 Spectre edition in the U.K. with a Bond theme and wallpaper.

Vuarnet Vintage Glacier Sunglasses ($600)

To keep the glare from his eyes while on the snowy Alps, Bond puts on a pair of Vuarnet aviator sunglasses with black leather side shields. The French company is reissuing these classic shades, but the design isn’t exactly the same. If you want a pair you can snap them up from Westerlind for $600.

Mulberry Day Glove Black Deerskin ($380)

Whether you’re out for a stroll in the chilly air, driving, shooting, breaking and entering, or even strangling a bad guy, there’s nothing like a good quality pair of black gloves. In Spectre Bond wears these, from Mulberry. They’re pricey, but with subtle stitch detailing and a luxurious cashmere lining, they’d have to be.

N.Peal Mock Turtle Neck Sweater ($306)

If you love the look of the sweater Bond is wearing in the official Spectre poster, then this is what you’re looking for. It’s a 70-percent cashmere, 30-percent silk blend in dark charcoal gray. Just be advised, a lightweight sweater like this won’t look quite the same without Daniel Craig’s physique under it.

Aston Martin DB10 ($4.6 million)

Aston Martin DB10

Sadly, you have little to no prospect of ever driving Bond’s car in Spectre. The Aston Martin DB10 was made for the film and Aston Martin only produced 10 of them – eight for use in the movie and two for show. It’s a prototype based on a modified V8 Vantage S, so it has the same 430 horsepower, 4.7-liter V8 engine and six-speed manual gearbox. But the DB10 has a carbon fiber body and a longer wheelbase, and it can hit 60 mph in 4.7 seconds and has a top speed of 190 mph. That $4.6 million price is based on what Q says in the movie (he also says it can hit 60 mph in 3 seconds). You may be able to pick up an unmodified model, without the spy gadgetry, for closer to $1.5 million when they go to auction.

And so, our Spectre gear guide draws to a close. Head to the Bond Lifestyle website for an even more detailed rundown of everything that appears in Spectre. Let us know what else you spot when you watch Bond in action this weekend.

A cat points a bat at another cat in Puss in Boots: The Last Wish.

While Nimona has been the big Netflix original animated film of the summer, it's far from the only addition to the lineup. Netflix is making sure that animation fans are well served in August with the first two Despicable Me movies, Bee Movie, and Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs 2. Netflix's deals with Sony Pictures Animation, DreamWorks Animation, and Universal Pictures have given it a powerhouse library of animated films. And that's before we even get into Netflix's impressive originals like The Sea Beast. 10 best Batman stories ever, ranked
Batman Year One cover

Bounding from rooftop to rooftop, the Dark Knight never misses his mark. He operates like a well-oiled machine tracking bad guys, beating them to a bloody pulp, and throwing them in the slammer - or Arkham Asylum should they be anyone of Gotham's notable supervillains. As the brainchild of Bob Kane and Bill Finger, an artist and writer duo, Batman has been pounding the pavement of Gotham ever since his debut in Detective Comics in 1939. He's undergone a number of changes since his original conception ultimately becoming the brooding powerhouse we know today.

Most understand the basic tenants of Batman these days. His parents were murdered before his young eyes leading him down this path of personal vindication and pursuit of justice. Batman, in most iterations, never resorts to killing -- the one crime that separates his outlaw vigilante operations from the real criminals. Of course, it wasn't always that way. In Batman's earliest days, he had no qualms about ending the lives of baddies on the streets. Even now, some stories and films like Tim Burton's gothic take on the character depict him looking on with cold and uncaring glares as criminals meet their end. Regardless, Batman is mostly a well-established hero simply seeking justice and there are countless stories of the Caped Crusader. Let's take a look at the best among them.
