Want an iPhone 6S before the holidays are over? Good news! The smartphone is currently on sale for $1 at Best Buy with a two-year contract.

The usual $200 down payment has been dropped to $1, but the deal comes with a few caveats. Verizon Wireless and Sprint are the only carriers available at Best Buy, a bit of a bummer for AT&T and T-Mobile customers.

Another issue with the deal is the $1 iPhone 6S only has 16GB of internal storage. For some customers, that might not seem like an issue, but 16GB is completely insufficient for iPhone users who download a lot of apps and videos or take a lot of photos.

Best Buy will stock all four colors of the iPhone 6S: space gray, silver, gold, and rose gold. The deal is available in stores or online until Sunday, and hopefully there will be enough stock to last through the weekend rush. Customers who trade in an iPhone 5 or later and purchase the iPhone 6S will receive a $200 gift card from Best Buy to sweeten the deal.

Best Buy isn’t the only retailer offering a festive smartphone deal — Carriers are getting involved as well. T-Mobile is offering a free year of Hulu to Verizon Wireless customers looking to switch carriers, and $100 off the Galaxy Note 5, Galaxy S6, Galaxy S6 Edge, and S6 Edge Plus. AT&T customers who want to switch to T-Mobile will receive a 128GB iPhone 6S for the price of a 16GB model, alongside other potential freebies. AT&T has Samsung deals as well, including a free Galaxy S6 if you purchase a separate Samsung smartphone.

I’ll be furious if the iPhone 15 Pro doesn’t get this one feature
A black iPhone 14 Pro lying on a table.

It’s peak summer season, but that also means we’re getting closer to Apple’s fall event in September. This is typically when we expect the next generation of iPhones and Apple Watches.

This year, we’re expecting the iPhone 15 lineup, which should include the standard iPhone 15, iPhone 15 Plus, iPhone 15 Pro, and iPhone 15 Pro Max. On top of that, it’s safe to say that we should also see the Apple Watch Series 9, but whether we’re getting a second-generation Apple Watch Ultra is still up in the air. And new AirPods? Who knows! Regardless, it will be exciting and jam-packed with a ton of new products.

This $600 Android phone has one big advantage over the iPhone
Two people holding the Fairphone 4 showing off the phone's rear side.

After nearly two years of wondering if it'll ever be sold officially in the U.S., the Fairphone 4 — a smartphone that hangs its hat on its repairable design — has finally launched in North America. With the evergrowing issue of e-waste, it's nice to see a company that's focused on following sustainable practices that allow users to fix their phones themselves instead of the all-too-common problem of having to throw out your iPhone and buy a new one when small issues occur.

Take note that the U.S. release of the Fairphone 4 is actually a variant called the Murena Fairphone 4, which differs from the base device with its Android-based operating system /e/OS.
