The comedian announced the tour in an appearance on The Daily Show this past Monday, and has posted a full list of tour dates on his Facebook page.
In a statement attached to the performance information, Cross expressed his excitement to be hitting the road again.
“I was very busy writing for The View, but now that the kids are off to college, my wife’s regiment has been transferred to McMurdo Station in the South Pole, and I’m near completion on Fallout 4,” Cross wrote, “It’s time to start up the bus and bring my patented, fart-inducing laugh winces to a town near you.”
The tour will begin January 26 in San Diego, and go virtually nonstop for three more months, zig-zagging across the United States before ending in Oklahoma City on April 24.
For fans of Cross, the string of performances will likely appear as simply a continuation of his fervent work in recent years, with the comedian appearing on a new season of Arrested Development, as well as his own Netflix original series with Bob Odenkirk called W/ Bob and David, along with a myriad of cameos in various comedy TV and film series.
A return to the stage may have been slightly unexpected given Cross’s current work schedule, but doing stand up comedy is a central aspect of his professional history. Known for his intelligent-yet-goofy stage style, Cross began his career doing stand up at the age of 17, and has continued to return to the stage throughout his now long career.
Now 51, the funnyman’s considerable stand-up experience makes his live show one to seek out if he will be coming to a stage near you.
