Zovatto has been tapped for a “recurring role,” which likely means that his character won’t be around for too long. (But then again, is anyone in these types of shows ever around for too long?) There aren’t any details being revealed about who he might play. Judging from his age and look (which is strikingly similar to Frank Dillane, who plays main character Nick Clark on the show), chances are he’ll be a friend of Nick’s, or possibly his sister Alicia (Alycia Debnam-Carey).
Another possibility is that he’ll be a former student of the matriarch of the family, Madison (Kim Dickens). As viewers know, before the world went to hell, she was a guidance counsellor at a high school. Another idea: perhaps the 24-year-old, Costa Rica-born actor will play a friend or family member to Daniel or Ofelia, who have become part of the Clark/Manawa survivor group, so to speak, since the zombie outbreak began. These, of course, are all just theories.
Zovatto broke out with his role in the delightfully creepy horror/thriller It Follows. He also recently appeared in the TV series Revenge, and was in one episode of popular show Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. In addition to this new role, Zovatto will next be seen in Brooklyn Animal Control, a pilot for USA Network, and in an upcoming Tristars/Ghosthouse film Man in the Dark.
Season 2 of Fear the Walking Dead is scheduled to premiere on April 10, the week after the sixth season of The Walking Dead wraps up. Just six episodes have aired thus far in the first season. At the end (spoiler alert) the gang was about to attempt a trip onto their new rich friend’s massive boat. What’s lurking on that vessel, however, remains to be seen. But if the show’s predecessor is any indication, it won’t be anything good. And they’ll be in for a pretty bumpy ride.
