Watch Hannibal Buress try VR for the first time (and we snuck in some porn)

This past Monday, Digital Trends invited Broad City actor and veteran funny man Hannibal Buress to test out virtual reality on the Samsung Gear VR for the first time.

Buress swam with dolphins in RYOT’s The Dolphin Project, partook in some breakdancing during rapper Common’s performance on Spike TV’s Lip Sync Battle, and soared through the creation of the universe in “The Beginning.” But, it is the VR porn provided by Naughty America that elicits Buress’ most insightful analysis.

Buress’ first Netflix one-hour comedy special, Comedy Camisado is out now. He will also appear in Comedy Central’s Broad City‘s third season debuting February 17, as well as Adult Swim’s The Eric Andre Show later this year.

HTC has been teasing that multiple new virtual reality headsets could be launching at ViveCon, the company's VR conference, this year. Slated to take place virtually this year on May 11, HTC had announced its plan to "[unveil] game-changing VR headsets, software, and platforms to take your experience to another level" at the show. Depending on what's announced, these new VR headsets sound like they could replace a number of options that are currently considered the best VR headsets you can buy.

While ViveCon is expected to be an enterprise-specific conference this year, those following the augmented, virtual, and mixed reality market could see how HTC is advancing the segment with its latest wares and platform to foster more innovation in the VR space.

Apple’s first VR headset could have dual 8K displays and an eye-watering price

Apple’s interest in augmented reality (AR) and virtual reality (VR) is well-known, as evidenced by a recent report that it is working on a VR headset that might also offer AR capabilities. A new report from The Information has now given us a rumored price for the device, and at $3,000, it sure ain’t cheap. That is less than the $3,500 Microsoft HoloLens 2, but its price hardly makes it a consumer-friendly gadget.

If you are interested in this premium headset, what will you get for your (considerable) outlay? Well, the device will pack in dual 8K displays, giving an eye-poppingly good experience for your grateful peepers. By way of comparison, the HTC Vive Cosmos Elite has a resolution of a “mere” 2880 x 1700 pixels. Apple is pulling no punches here.

The days of the GPU shortage are long over, but somehow, buying a GPU is harder than ever -- and that sentiment has very little to do with stock levels. It's just that there are no obvious candidates when shopping anymore.

In a generation where no single GPU stands out as the single best graphics card, it's hard to jump on board with the latest from AMD and Nvidia. I don't want to see another GPU shortage, but the state of the graphics card market is far from where it should be.
