Apple.com received a major redesign that went live today. This change will not only improve user experience, but also the shopping experience as well.
The tech giant officially removed its standalone retail site along with the URL store.app.com and has integrated the shopping experience into Apple.com. This is a huge change for one of the top online retail stores in the world. In 40 countries, more than 1 billion customers visit the major online retail store every year. Of course, all of these countries will be able to have access to the new Apple.com.
An Apple spokesperson said in a statement, “We redesigned Apple.com knowing that our customers want to explore, research, and shop in one place. The new Apple.com takes the very best of our existing site and our online store to give the customers one simple destination to learn and buy without navigating between two different sites. We’ve also improved several of the site’s features to make shopping easier than ever for our customers.”
When you visit Apple’s redesigned site, you’ll notice the “Store” button that was located on the upper-left hand side of the site was removed.
There’s also virtual shopping cart icon now that appears in the upper-right hand side of Apple.com that lets you view items you’ve favorited, items for purchase, and order statuses.
If you’re looking to purchase accessories for your iPhone, you’ll instantly notice that the accessories page focuses on popular items, underneath it you’ll be able to shop for third-party accessories by category including Audio & Music, Business, Cases & Protection, Health & Fitness, Power & Cables, Toys & Hobbies, etc.
There are also buy buttons and purchase options added to every product page, so you can easily navigate to the Store. The redesign will not only offer Apple.com users a better user experience, but it just makes it that much faster to purchase items on Apple.com.
