Dodge – in true American fashion – has added another limited run model to the uproarious Challenger muscle car: the R/T Redline.
Dodge starts off by taking the regular R/T model and adding a few extra bits, making the iconic American muscle car that much more distinctive.
No, the R/T Redline doesn’t have any more power than the standard R/T. Designers left the 375-horsepower HEMI V8 under the hood alone and messed about with the exterior.
The R/T Redline is offered in four body colors: Billet Silver, Granite Crystal, Bright White, and Pitch Black. No matter the body color, Dodge adds a two-tone red and graphite racing stripe along the body with a “Redline” badge incorporated near the rear-end of the car. Further separating it from the rest of the Challenger line, Dodge includes a body-color front grille surround.
Of course Dodge didn’t stop there with the factory customizations. Designers bolted on 20-inch “Black Chrome” wheels featuring a red lip and inner backbone for extra visual pop. For extra performance, customers can also specify the “Super Track Pack,” which includes Goodyear Eagle F1 P245/45R20 three-season performance tires, high-performance brake linings, and a lowered ride height.
On the interior of the R/T Redline, Dodge offers a Dark Slate Gray interior with “Dark Slate Gray” performance seats, or premium Nappa leather performance seats in “Radar Red” or “Dark Slate Gray.”
So if you’re thinking Dodge has simply invented an inexpensive way to reinvigorate its only muscle car, you’re right. But for a measly extra $1,995, you could do a lot worse for a distinguishing options package.
