Bimmerpost has managed to wrangle copies of the 2016 BMW M3 and M4 ordering guides, documents which reveal pricing information for the sports coupe and the sedan.
The 2016 BMW M3 will have a sticker price of $64,150 including destination while the M4 pricing will start at $66,350 for the coupe and at $74,850 for the convertible. Compared to the 2015 model year, the 2016’s are priced at a $1,200 premium for the M3 and M4 coupe and an additional $1,400 for the M4 convertible.
Why the increase? Part of the bump is likely due to new standard features that are being added for the 2016 model year, including Comfort Access Keyless Entry, Satellite Radio, and Harman/Kardon Surround Sound System. The BMW M3 also gains LED tail lights and body-matching door accents.
Packaging information was also revealed in the ordering guides. The Driver Assistance Package will cost $1,700, the Executive Package (to help bring out your inner boss) runs for $3,500, and the Lighting Package with adaptive LED lights and automatic high beams adds $1,900 to the price tag.
Performance packages include the M double-clutch transmission with Drivelogic for an extra $2,900, and M carbon ceramic brakes as a painful $8,150 option. You’re also free to tack on adaptive M suspension, 19-inch wheels, a moonroof, power rear sunshade, side and top view cameras, a parking assistant, and enhanced USB and Bluetooth plus smartphone integration, all for more cash money.
The core characteristics remain the same for 2016, including the M3 and M4’s twin-turbocharged 3.0 liter straight-six engine with 425 horsepower and 406 pound-feet of torque. Of course it always depends on how you use the car, but the M3 and M4’s chassis, brakes, suspension, and engine are the only features you really need.
