The sixth-generation car is set for its full debut on May 16th, and over the last eight months or so, it’s built up a healthy amount of fanfare for itself. And by that, we mean rabid anticipation, because people are chomping at the bit to get a peek at this thing.
Well, we have great news. General Motors confirmed today that the 2016 Camaro will feature not one, not two, not three, but four wheels! The bombshells continue, as we can report the car will indeed have brakes as well. Standard.
The photos come as part of a GM press release, which announces that the sixth-gen pony car will be 28 percent stiffer than its predecessor (pictured). This follows a previous dispatch where the brand revealed the ‘Maro will drop 200 pounds for better cornering goodness. We also know the model will feature about 70 percent new parts, and we’ve got several pictures of the frame, suspension assembly, exhaust manifold, and even a few gaskets to show for it.

As the muscle car slowly creeps from the shadows into the light of our computer screens, fans eagerly await the inevitable Mustang vs. Camaro showdowns. Having driven both, General Motors’ VP of Global Product Development, Mark Reuss, is supremely — and unsurprisingly —optimistic about his car’s chances.
“There are some really cool things in the Camaro, that are quite different than the Malibu, [or the] CT6,” he said. “I’m confident. Very confident.”
The Camaro vs. Mustang war has been raging for decades, and like the cars themselves, it doesn’t look like the conflict will be slowing down any time soon.
