Arash’s hybrid AF10 supercar will charge into Geneva with 2080 hybrid horsepower

Arash may not be among the best known automotive manufacturers, but after the reveal of the company’s AF10 supercar, it would be impossible to call the brand “tame.”

In 2008, Arash Motor Company revealed its production AF10 model, and now, eight years later, the vehicle has been given a significant update for this year’s Geneva Motor Show.

Most importantly, the AF10’s powertrain is one of the most powerful setups on a modern day vehicle. A 6.2-liter supercharged V8 is paired with four electric motors for a combined 2,080 horsepower and 1,683 pound-feet of torque. The engine alone contributes 900 hp and 886 lb-ft of torque. With an electric motor at each wheel, the AF10 benefits from all-wheel drive performance. As a result, the supercar accelerates to 60 mph in less than 3.0 seconds and tops 201 mph, provided enough road.

All that force reaches the tarmac via a six-speed manual gearbox or an optional automatic transmission. As for the hardware, each electric motor uses a two-speed gearbox and 32kWh lithium ion battery that is automatically recharged via the four motor generators.

The AF10’s carbon fiber body sits on a 13-piece carbon fiber reinforced chassis with aluminum honeycomb construction. Michelin Pilot Sport 2 tires provide supreme levels of grip, and a built-in lifting system helps owners avoid scraping the expensive bodywork when going over speed bumps.

Though the AF10 is certainly Arash’s halo model, the automaker also offers a milder AF8 model with a GM-sourced 7.0-liter V8 and 550 hp. The AF8 also uses a six-speed manual transmission and carbon fiber body to keep weight down to a skimpy 2,645 pounds. 0 to 60 mph takes just 3.5 seconds and the AF8 continues on to a 195 mph top speed.

Arash will display both models at Geneva in two weeks. Prices for the AF8 start at £350,000 ($491,000) and £1.1 million (or $1.54 million) for the insane AF10. Should buyers want more racing hardware, the AF10 can be optioned with a roll cage, fire extinguisher, and other goodies for an additional £100,000.
