Squeeze 420 ponies from your VW Golf R? B&B Automobiltechnik’s Stage 3 kit will do it

The Golf R is the pinnacle of the tuner world, and has more than enough horsepower to rocket through the streets. B&B Automobiltechnik, however, isn’t satisfied by the Golf R, so it’s offering a three-stage power kit for those looking to enter warp drive, as reported by World Car Fans.

For those on a budget, the Stage 1 kit is priced at $1,798, and will bump horsepower up to 360 horsepower and 332 pound-feet. To reach those new heights of power output, the Stage 1 lifts the turbo’s charge air pressure and a remaps the electronic injection characteristics.

For those who still crave more power the Stage 2 kit puts out 385 hp and 354 lb-ft of torque. This – and its price tag – are not for the faint of heart, as it will cost about $5,478. All those dollars will be put to a new exhaust pipe with a sporty catalytic converter and a reduction in thermal load. Thermal load reduction? Essentially, the newfangled exhaust dissipates heat more efficiently, making for more power … somehow.

The Stage 3 kit is for those who are really looking to captain a compact jet. At this level, horsepower is lifted to 420 and torque to 391 lb-ft. With those kinds of numbers, we’re in the range of the new Audi TT sport quattro concept. A 120-hp power kit doesn’t come cheap, though, and will burn a hole in your wallet the size of $13,645. The top-tier kit comes with a B&B turbocharger, sport exhaust system, and modified air intake system.

Still not impressed? B&B still has more upgrades to throw at the Golf R. These include an oil-cooling system for about $1,366, performance springs, and 20-inch alloy wheels.
I think it’s safe to say B&B has you covered, if you’re looking to add a supercar kick to your Golf R.
