The Corvette Z06 is more or less a racecar from the factory. Sure, there’s a stereo and air conditioning onboard, but the ungodly power, grip, and borderline unhealthy amount of fear you experience behind the wheel makes you feel like you’re on the track every time.
For those who want true racing heritage and livery, though, Chevrolet has an answer. The automaker has just unveiled the Corvette Z06 C7.R Edition, a limited production model inspired by the C7.R racecar.
Right off the bat, you need to know one thing: there isn’t any more power than the 650 ponies and 650 pound-feet of torque that come with the stock version. But trust us, it doesn’t need extra oomph. Any more and you just might brake gravity, or worse.
What the C7.R Edition does add, however, is more stopping power. Brembo carbon ceramic brakes come with the included Z07 Performance Package, granting fade-free confidence on those twisty mountain roads. Sticky Michelin Sport Cup 2 tires come along for the ride as well.
Aesthetically, the C7.R Edition takes cues from its racecar inspiration. The car, which will be limited to 500 units, wears the brand’s ‘Corvette Racing Yellow Tintcoat’ color on the exterior, though black is an option as well.
Also included are a C7.R Edition graphics package, yellow brake calipers, black wheels with yellow accents, and carbon fiber accents on the hood and ground effects. The theme continues inside too, with yellow contrast stitching, bespoke badging and plaques, carbon fiber trim, and Corvette Racing sill plates.

“Combined with the 650-horsepower supercharged LT4 engine, true aerodynamic downforce and performance technologies such as Magnetic Ride Control, Performance Traction Management and an electronic limited slip differential, the Corvette Z06 C7.R Edition offers capability matched only by an elite fraternity of the world’s supercars and special-edition exclusivity that is sure to make it an instant collector’s item.”
