Forza Horizon 2 DLC goes a bit retro with NAPA’s Chassis Car Pack

If you’ve already burned through the 200 or so cars available in Forza Horizon 2, the Xbox One’s free-roaming racing game, then you’ll be happy to hear that the downloadable content packs continue to flow.

The NAPA Chassis Car Pack brings six new vehicles for you to thrash about in the Microsoft game’s European microcosm. While others might make sense, given the environment, others are interesting choices, to say the least.

For instance, if you’ve ever dreamed of driving a 1988 Chevrolet Monte Carlo Super Sport through the lands of its namesake, the new pack lets you get as close as possible without shipping the vintage ’80s monster to the French Riviera.

While we’re on the subject of muscle, the 1970 Buick GSX also joins the fray, letting you experience its 360-horsepower, 455-cubic-inch V8 engine in the safety of your own living room. Switching to the cockpit view also allows you to get nostalgic with the authentic, fully recreated dashboard.

The other cars that make up the car pack seem more at home on the game’s European roads … or, indeed, off them. The 2002 Lotus Esprit V8 brings its classic wedge design, 380 hp, and its trademark lightness to the game for you to play with on virtual highways, while the 2014 Land Rover Range Rover Sport Supercharged makes an appearance to tear up the dirt paths and vineyards that get in your way.

Heck, jump in the 2015 RS 6 Avant and do both. The 500-hp, all-wheel drive wagon is a beast of a daily driver in real life, so imagine what you can get up to when safety concerns and legal repercussions are off the table.

The real prize of the car pack is the addition of the McLaren 650S Coupe, which joins its 12C, F1, and P1 brethren already in the game’s lineup.

If you’ve got an Xbox One, you can grab the NAPA Chassis Car Pack DLC for $5, or at the very least pick up the Lotus Esprit, as it is available as a free download all this month.
