Hear Hennessey’s 623-HP Jaguar F-Type Roar

It may be inspired by the legendary E-Type sports car, but with a 5.0-liter supercharged V8, the 2015 Jaguar F-Type R Coupe is really a muscle car with a British accent.

So maybe it’s not surprising that Hennessey Performance – known primarily for its insane tuned American iron – decided to have a go at making this cat even more ferocious.

The company is offering an HPE600 upgrade for the R Coupe and other supercharged V8 F-Type models that includes a software tune, supercharger pulley upgrade, and an a reinforced cooling system to keep everything frosty in the face of some serious power.

This handful of modifications yields 623 horsepower and 568 pound-feet of torque, up from the stock F-Type R’s 550 hp and 502 lb-ft.

The Hennessey F-Type will do 0 to 60 mph in 3.5 seconds, half a second quicker than stock. It will also run the quarter mile in 11.4 seconds, just 0.2 second off the pace of a 707-hp 2015 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat on street tires.

The F-Type sounds just as ferocious as the Dodge and, as demonstrated in the above video, does a pretty good job of smoking its tires.

Hennessey is new to the Jaguar-tuning game, but the Texas-based tuner has an impressive resume when it comes to big American V8s.

It’s already planning a 717-hp 2015 Ford Mustang, and pushed its GM V8-powered, Lotus Exige-based Venom GT to 270.49 mph at Florida’s Kennedy Space Center earlier this year.
