For about the price of a base model Jeep Renegade, you can adorn your Mercedes-Benz G-Class with the vibrancy of a pack of Skittles.
Called the ‘Crazy Color Edition,’ the new (and aptly-named) trim line for the Mercedes G63 AMG and G65 AMG offers finishes like Solar Beam, Tomato Red, Sunset Beam, Galactic Beam, and Alien Beam in select countries.
The prices range between €15,348 (about $17,600) for Solar Beam all the way up to €19,962 ($22,880) for the range-topping Galactic Beam. That may sound like an awful lot, but considering the G63 AMG’s base price of $137,150, well … it’s still a lot.
Whatever extravagant paint you choose, the Crazy Color Edition features Obsidian Black accents on the side mirrors, roof, wheel arches, bumpers, and other various surfaces on the car.
Inside, buyers will be treated to body-colored stitching on the seats, dash, door panels, and center console. For an extra €898 ($1,209), customers can order a seven-speaker Harman Kardon surround sound audio system. For another €1,600 ($1,833), a Seat Comfort package is available.
Not enough options yet? Not to worry. Mercedes is also offering AMG carbon fiber trim elements for a paltry €4,165 ($4,772). Standard equipment includes black Nappa leather and AMG brake calipers front and rear.
There are no major mechanical modifications to either vehicle, but the G63 AMG houses a 5.5-liter biturbo V8 under the hood that makes 536 horsepower. On the G65 AMG, those specs improve to a 6.0-liter biturbo V12 with 612 hp.
Deliveries of the Crazy Color Edition will commence in March.
