Nice grill, bub. Kia’s ‘X-Men’ Sorento uses Wolverine’s claws as front-end decor

Everyone’s favorite cigar-smoking mutant, Wolverine, may have (SPOILER ALERT) perished in the recent Marvel comics, but Hugh Jackman’s cinematic interpretation is still going strong.

Kia has announced an X-Men-themed Sorento to promote the Days of Future Past Blu-ray release alongside the brand’s Australian Open sponsorship, and the crossover wears Wolverine’s claws front and back. Don’t worry about ol’ Logan, though. He’ll come back. They always do.

The Sorento SUV also features a red and black color scheme and one of Kia’s three engine choices: a 185-horsepower 2.4-liter four, a 240-hp 2.0-liter turbo, and a 290-hp 3.3-liter V6. Each powerplant is hooked up to a six-speed automatic and features optional all-wheel drive.

In mid-December, Kia plans to release a YouTube video of the brand’s ambassador, tennis star Rafael Nadal, driving the car and fighting alongside the X-Men to defeat the Sentinels. Presumably, the robots’ mission is to adapt Nadal’s flowing locks and only the mutants can stop them.

We’re going to assume the car is nigh indestructible because of the adamantium enhancements, but we’ll have to wait for the car’s public debut at Melbourne Park in January to find out. At the very least, it must have inherited Wolverine’s healing factor, right?

Up next for Century Fox and director Bryan Singer is X-Men: Apocalypse, a sequel (or is it prequel?) to Days of Future Past set in 1983. The film is slated for a May 18th 2016 release, and will feature members of the Days of Future Past cast like Professor X, Magneto, Beast, Quicksilver, and Mystique. Characters like Gambit, Wolverine, and Nightcrawler have also been rumored.

The main villain will be Apocalypse, a god-like supervillain bent on becoming the new messiah for mutant-kind.
