NY Auto Show Preview: 2014 Cadillac CTS pictures leaked

Just days ahead of its official unveiling Tuesday night in New York, the 2014 Cadillac CTS has been revealed – well, at least some exterior details.

While we can’t see much of the interior or the car in its entirety, we already know one important detail: the engine. The 2014 Cadillac CTS will be powered by a twin-turbocharged V6 producing 420 horsepower. All that power will be sent to either the rear wheels or to all four, through Cadillac’s all-wheel drive system.

The pictures were discovered just a few hours ago on this Flickr account. Why they’ve been released, we don’t know. But frankly, we don’t care.

The trunk looks similar to the current CTS rear end but the front looks much more striking with sharp, muscular lines that – pardon the cliché – make it look like its going 100mph standing still.

The 2014 CTS comes on the heels of its little brother, the Cadillac ATS, winning North American Car of the year. If the sum of the car looks as good as its details – and the motor as fantastic as it is on paper – then the CTS might be a contender for next year’s car of the year.

We’ll be at the official unveiling in New York next week. So stay tuned for more details and pictures then.

What do you think of the CTS’ updated looks? Too much or not enough? Tell us in the comment section.
