For the last couple weeks, the group has been gallivanting around Europe as a part of the Clarkson, Hammond, and May Live tour (formerly Top Gear Live), and it’s great to see that the boys haven’t lost their touch for loud and explosive fun. In the 40-second film, you can see LED-laden drifting BMWs, hovercrafts, flamethrowers, and what appears to be a slew of homemade racecars equipped with blenders and steam irons rummaging about. Of course, there’s a plethora of high-end supercars and sports cars as well, including the BMW i8, Ferrari LaFerrari, Lamborghini Huracan, and of course, the perfectly balanced Reliant Robin.
Before the tour wraps up in November, the gang will grace BBC Two under the official Top Gear banner one last time. On Sunday, June 28th, there will premiere on the channel Season 22’s “lost episode,” which is compiled from footage filmed before Clarkson’s abrupt suspension from the show. It’s surely to be a bittersweet moment for longtime fans, as there will be no in-studio segments. Still, watching the trio tear up the countryside in second-hand 4x4s should be just like old times.
After that, BBC presenter Chris Evans will lead a so-called “dream team” as the new Top Gear crew, with filming scheduled to start in the next few weeks.
As for Jezza, Hamster, and Captain Slow, the trio is expected to announce a new show soon.
