Aretmis Adds New Biometric Flash Drive

Aretmis Solutions Group announced today a new biometric fingerprint flash drive designed to secure portable data. The new BioCert ClipBio Pro 1GB drive is priced at $129.95 and available now.

The BioCert ClipBio Pro 1GB, said Aretmis, uses the latest in biometric technology to secure data. Asus’ insane new PSU looks fully RTX 5090-ready
The Asus ROG Thor III 1600W power supply with blue lightning around it.

Asus has announced its ROG Thor III series of power supplies, designed specifically for gamers and enthusiasts who demand the most from their systems, perhaps to earn a spot among the best PSUs you can buy.

The highlight of this new lineup is the flagship 1600W model, which comes with an 80 Plus Titanium certification, meaning that it can deliver superior energy efficiency for the most power-hungry setups, perhaps ahead of one particular GPU, the RTX 5090. The Thor III family also includes 1000W and 1200W models, both with 80 Plus Platinum certifications, making them highly efficient options for high-end gaming rigs.

Perplexity’s two new features take it beyond just a chatbot

Perplexity AI, makers of the popular chatbot by the same name, announced Thursday that it is rolling out a pair of new features that promise to give users more flexibility over the sorts of sources they employ: Internal Knowledge Search and Spaces.

"Today, we're launching Perplexity for Internal Search: one tool to search over both the web and your team's files with multi-step reasoning and code execution," Perplexity AI CEO Aravind Srinivas wrote on X (formerly Twitter). Previously, users were able to upload personal files for the AI to chew through and respond upon, the same way they could with Gemini, ChatGPT, or Copilot. With Internal Search, Perplexity will now dig through both those personal documents and the internet to infer its response.

I compared a new Intel laptop with the previous gen. The difference was stark
The Zenbook S 14 on a table in front of a grass lawn.

Intel's Lunar Lake chipset is aimed at two objectives. First, it's meant to leverage the popularity of generative AI with a fast neural processing unit (NPU) that meets Microsoft's Copilot+ PC initiative. Second, Windows laptops need to be a lot more efficient to compete against Apple's MacBooks that are both fast and get very good battery life.

The Asus Zenbook S 14 is one of the first Lunar Lake laptops, and it accomplishes both objectives while being a good laptop in its own right. The HP Envy x360 2-in-1 stands in as a previous generation laptop that shows exactly how close Intel has come. Is the Zenbook therefore a better fit on our list of the best laptops?
