August Windows Patch Time Rolls Around

Windows-based PC owners – it’s that time of month again. That’s right: its patch time! Microsoft today is out with their monthly notification of pending updates and fixes.

The August update bulletin states that on August 9, the computer software giant will release six security updates for various, non-mentioned issues. At least one of these has been deemed “critical”, which is Microsoft’s highest problem level.

Beyond the six security updates, Microsoft said there would be one non-security, high priority update. No specific mention was made as to what this patch was for. Also on the docket is an update of Microsoft’s Malicious Software Removal Tool.

Details regarding the updates will be made available on the day they are released.

The Windows 11 2022 Update is available to the public as of today as the first major update since Microsoft introduced its Windows 11 last year. The update is also known as Windows 11 version 22H2 and is available for both Windows 11 devices and those currently running Windows 10. Though Microsoft says the update will have a phased rollout, Windows users should be able to begin checking for the downloadable update immediately.
