Logitech’s new wireless computer mice offer up to two years of battery life

Looking to finally dismiss the idea that a wireless computer mouse can’t hold a charge for long, Logitech has announced a trio of new wireless mice promising as much as two years of life on a single AA battery. They aren’t the most high-end rodents in the world, nor do they sport gamer RGB lighting, but they will last a long, long time.

The two most recent additions to Logitech’s lineup are the M220 Silent and M330 Silent Plus, which as well as being able to hold their charge well, are obviously rather quiet. Logitech claims that each one is around 90 percent quieter than your average right-hand peripheral, reducing noise from drag and clicks by large margins.

Although not a feature that many are bothered by, having a quiet clicker can be a godsend for those in busy offices, or in public places that are typically rather quiet, like libraries.

With both new models being billed as quiet with long battery lives, you might wonder what’s so “plus” about the M330? Its battery life — it lasts up to two years, while the M220 can last for a year and a half. Physically they’re also a little different, with the M330 being right-handed only with a soft thumb rest, while the M220 is ambidextrous.

The M330 Silent Plus is set to go on sale in September, priced at $30, while the M220 will debut in October, with a reduced $25 price tag. Both can still be pre-ordered.

The third mouse mentioned in the introduction above, was shown off earlier this week. Known as the Logitech M720 Triathlon, it’s another wireless mouse with a two-year battery life, but it stands out from the crowd because it can be paired with up to three devices at once. From there, you can switch between them at the click of a button on the mouse, letting you jump between different devices without switching input mechanism.

This could be handy for those doing work on a PC and tablet simultaneously, or those who simply want a bit of extra control of their smartphone in certain situations. The Logitech M720 Triathlon is available now, with a price tag of $70.

Trying to buy a GPU in 2023 almost makes me miss the shortage
Two AMD Radeon RX 7000 graphics cards on a pink surface.

The days of the GPU shortage are long over, but somehow, buying a GPU is harder than ever -- and that sentiment has very little to do with stock levels. It's just that there are no obvious candidates when shopping anymore.

In a generation where no single GPU stands out as the single best graphics card, it's hard to jump on board with the latest from AMD and Nvidia. I don't want to see another GPU shortage, but the state of the graphics card market is far from where it should be.
This generation is all over the place

This tiny ThinkPad can’t quite keep up with the MacBook Air M2
Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Nano Gen 3 rear view showing lid and logo.

While the laptop industry continues to move toward 14-inch laptops and larger, the 13-inch laptop remains an important category. One of the best is the Apple MacBook Air M2, with an extremely thin and well-built chassis, great performance, and incredibly long battery life.

Lenovo has recently introduced the third generation of its ThinkPad X1 Nano, one of the lightest laptops we've tested and a good performer as well. It's stiff competition, but which of these two diminutive laptops stands apart?
