Wi-Fi service provider Boingo Wireless today extended the number of hotspots their user base can roam to. A deal with Opti-Fi Networks adds wireless networks at 30 North American airports.
This agreement, Boingo said, allows for high speed wireless Internet access at American and Canadian airports including “Albany, NY, International Airport; Edmonton, Alberta, International Airport; Hamilton, Ontario, International Airport; Jackson Hole, WY, Airport, and many others from coast to coast. It also includes access at Airtran Airways gates at many major airports including Atlanta-Hartsfield International Airport; Baltimore-Washington International Airport; Chicago Midway Airport; and Miami International Airport.â€
Future plans will bring an additional 28 airports into the fold. This will bring Boingo’s airport presence to 93 in North America and 169 worldwide.
“Airports are high-value locations because they are such natural and convenient locations for Wi-Fi usage, which makes adding as many airports as possible to the Boingo network a key strategy in our network development,” said Colby Goff, senior vice president of network strategy for Boingo. “Partnering with top-tier providers such as Opti-Fi enables us to fulfill this objective with high-quality networks.”
“Boingo is a premier global Wi-Fi company, and we are excited to be partnering with such a leader and innovator in the wireless market,” said Roland Muse, Opti-Fi’s chief executive officer. “As we strive to meet the demands of the airport market, we will continue to deliver enhanced connectivity and convenience to Boingo’s customers.”
