Buffalo Technology, as reported by tech site eHomeUpgrade, recently previewed larger versions of its TeraStation Terabyte Network Storage devices for consumer and business uses. A new 2TB version priced at $1,999 and targeted towards the business sector is available now, while 1.6TB and 2TB home servers will come out in May for $1,499 and $1,899 respectively.
The TeraStation Terabyte Network Storage devices, said Buffalo, are both Windows and Mac compatible, offer four operational modes and feature a Gigabit Ethernet port for faster data transfer rates. The TeraStation Home Server product includes media server software, is DLNA certified and includes four USB 2.0 ports, a built-in USB printer server and a file server.
The TeraStation Pro, meanwhile, features Active Directory member support. It sports four USB 2.0 ports, four serial ATA hard drives, a lockable front panel and a LCD monitor which indicates information such as operational mode, disk usage and network information.
