Creative Sound Chip Makes Three New Friends

Creative’s hot little Sound Blaster Live! 24-bit processor is getting some upcoming playtime in computers as the company announced today three PC motherboard manufacturers will incorporate it into their upcoming American product line ups as the only integrated on-board audio solution.

The Sound Blaster Live! chip delivers 24-bit/96kHz, 7.1 surround sound with special audio enhancements for music, movie and game sounds. GIGABYTE, according to a Creative press release, said the chip will appear on its GA-G1915P motherboard that will ship worldwide in August. MSI is currently using the technology in its K8N Diamond and P4N Diamond models. Shuttle Computer has incorporated the processor into its currently available SD31P motherboard, and will be doing so on its upcoming SD11G5, SD35P, and M1000 models that will be shipping worldwide this fall.

Alongside the announcement of its first major update to Windows 11 (known as the Windows 11 2022 Update), Microsoft is also dispelling some of the rumors about its update cadence for the operating system.
