Stock configurations will vary between 3 and 6 GB of RAM, and up to 500 GB of hard drive storage will be available. The systems will sport either an internal tray-load DVD±RW drive or an optional internal Blu-ray player/DVD burner; the systems will also offer Intel Wireless Display technology so users can push 1080p video and 5.1 surround sound to a home theater without cables. The new Inspiron R systems are available now to U.S. customers on Dell’s Web site, and should be available in retail channels in the coming months. The Inspiron 15R starts at $529.99, with both the 14R and 17R starting at $579.99. The systems all come with a black lid; the Switch lids start at $39.99, and include options from “outstanding independent artists” as well as lids benefitting Susan G. Komen for the Cure and (Product) Red.

Gaming laptops and gaming desktops get crazy discounts at Dell
The front view of the Alienware Aurora R12 gaming desktop.

The age-old debate between PC gamers is, do you go full power for the true battlestation in a desktop, or do you take it on the go with a more portable laptop and sacrifice some of that power? Honestly, with the right gaming PC deals, or gaming laptop deals, you can find a good balance between both.

We recommend holding off the big debate because Dell is offering some crazy deals on Alienware desktops and laptops right now. You can grab the Alienware Aurora R12 Gaming Desktop ( which totally looks like a big air purifier and we're not saying that's a bad thing) for $1,730 or $200 off. Or, you can opt for the Alienware m15 R3 Gaming Laptop, which looks nothing like an air purifier, for $1,700 or a whopping $580 off. Your choice, but either way, you get free shipping and express delivery as part of the package. Hurry though, availability is limited for both deals.

dell new inspiron laptops take xps design family 12

Dell has announced a new line of Inspiron laptops that simplify the branding and design of these more affordable laptops. Dell's flagship laptops, the XPS line, often enjoy all the latest design innovations. That's unlikely to change anytime soon, but these new Inspiron laptops are finally starting to catch up to some of the best laptops you can buy.

The new lineup includes the Inspiron 13, Inspiron 14, Inspiron 14 2-in-1, Inspiron 15, and Inspiron 16 Plus. That might sound like a lot, but it's actually a simplification of the line, which currently includes 3000, 5000, and 7000 versions.

Dell Inspiron 15 7000 vs. Dell XPS 15
dell inspiron 15 7000 2020 review

When it comes to mainstream laptops, Dell offers two ranges: Inspiron and XPS. The Inspiron range considers value, from the 3000-series that you can have for around $400 to the 7000-series, which stretches up to $1,000.

The XPS range, on the other hand, uses the traditional "ultrabook" model, with premium design, components, battery life, and build quality. Dell charges for the privilege, however, with a kitted out XPS notebook reaching upwards of $3,000.
