Hackers Block Twitter’s Tweets

Hackers briefly blocked access to the popular Internet messaging service Twitter, steering traffic to another Web site where a group reportedly calling itself the “Iranian Cyber Army” claimed responsibility.

Users trying to reach Twitter early Friday were redirected to a Web page that CNN reported had a picture of a green flag and a message that said, “This site has been hacked by the Iranian Cyber Army.”

There was no evidence the hackers are actually linked to Iran. Web sites like Twitter and Facebook helped bring attention to the Iranian opposition during the country’s crackdown after its June elections, with users posting minute-by-minute updates and amateur video.

Twitter later Friday posted a message on its blog that said its Domain Name Systems’ records “were temporarily compromised but have now been fixed.” The site says it will update with more details “once we’ve investigated more fully.”

This Bing flaw let hackers change search results and steal your files

A security researcher was recently able to change the top results in Microsoft’s Bing search engine and access any user’s private files, potentially putting millions of users at risk -- and all it took was logging into an unsecured web page.

The exploit was discovered by researcher Hillai Ben-Sasson at their team at Wiz, a cloud security firm. According to Ben-Sasson, it would not only allow an attacker to change Bing search results but would also grant them access to millions of users’ private files and data.

Twitter API broke links, images on the website this morning

Twitter broke in several places this morning, likely due to Twitter's own API. Slow load times, broken links, and services like TweetDeck went down on Monday, displaying an error related to Twitter's API. This is not the first hurdle Twitter has seen due to its API under the new leadership of Elon Musk.

When using a link on Twitter or accessing a service like TweetDeck, you would see this message: "{"errors":[{"message":"Your current API plan does not include access to this endpoint, please see https://developer.twitter.com/en/docs/twitter-api for more information","code":467}]}" That's not too helpful -- going to the website address in the error would take you to a page with the same error.
