There’s always got to be a gimmick to sell something, and Microsoft has come up with the trendiest of them all – peripherals that will be compatible with Windows 7.

Of course, they should be first out of the blocks with these items, since they have the head start. But there are already betas of software for peripherals that works with the release candidate of Windows 7, and the company will have final versions for mice and keyboards ready to go later this month, with LifeCams software to come next month.

Expect a deluge of mice, keyboards, webcams, and far more with Windows 7-compatible stickers very soon…but Microsoft hopes, of course, that you’ll buy Microsoft products.
