The Digital Trends team is right now preparing to converge on Las Vegas, Nev. for the week-long gathering of gear, gadgets and electronics gurus that is the annual Consumer Electronics Show. HP fired a first shot at the start of last week when it released a teaser video for its soon-to-be-revealed Envy Spectre ultrabook. Today brings a second teaser video, though don’t expect to walk away with much new information or even a clear look at what’s being cooked up. The best you get is a blink-and-you’ll-miss-it glimpse of the Envy Spectre in profile, though it’s hard not to notice the Beats Audio logo on the device’s side.
The Envy Spectre will be one of the many ultrabooks taking a bow at CES this year, all of them lining up for a shot at knocking out the most popular kid on the block, Apple‘s MacBook Air. Very little is known about HP’s contender, beyond that it will likely sport a 14-inch screen and and feature Intel‘s “Ivy Bridge” processor, according to a recent FCC filing.
The Envy Spectre won’t the only HP ultrabook in the mix. The company released its Folio 13 ultrabook on December 7, a $900 13.3-incher with a solid nine-hour battery life and a good mix of features to offset its relatively average-sized (for an ultrabook) 3.3 pounds and 18mm thickness.
Check out the Envy Spectre teaser below and stay tuned all this week for CES coverage straight from the show floor!
