Leak reveals Samsung’s two flagship ultrawide monitors coming later this year

For years, PC gamers have been combining more than one display to provide a wider viewing angle, but recently we’ve seen manufacturers offer a more elegant solution: ultrawide monitors. Now, leaked information suggests that Samsung will release two such monitors in 2016 that push the limits of the tech.

It’s expected that the company will release 30-inch and 35-inch variants of its upcoming ultrawide monitor, according to a report from TechSpot. These displays boast an impressive 3,440 x 1,440 resolution that’s backed up by a 144 Hz refresh rate and the use of high-spec VA panel technology.

Three types of panels are commonly used in PC monitors — TN (Twisted Nematic), VA (Vertical Alignment) and IPS (In-Plane Switching). TN is the most prevalent, but VA offers some major advantages, particularly with regard to contrast and viewing angles. IPS is widely considered to be the best of the bunch — although all three types of panel have certain advantages, depending on their usage — but it’s not currently compatible with this resolution and refresh rate.

Given the refresh rate, it seems likely these monitors will be marketed towards gamers, who enjoy the added responsiveness of a quick refresh rate.

Notably, the monitors will be among the first to utilize DisplayPort 1.3. Previously, Samsung has only supported DisplayPort 1.2, but the impressive resolution and refresh rate offered up by these ultrawide monitors requires the latest version.

Many graphics cards currently don’t support DisplayPort 1.3, but that’s expected to change imminently. Upcoming releases from both AMD and Nvidia are confirmed to be compatible with the technology, and those cards are anticipated to ship around the same time as Samsung’s ultrawide monitors.

While information is scarce, it’s expected that Samsung’s 35-inch ultrawide monitor will be available in Q2 of 2016, with the 30-inch model following in Q3. No pricing information has been made available as of the time of writing, but given the capabilities of these premium displays, it seems likely that they’ll command a high price point.

Leak of Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra photos and video reveals a very Note-like phone

-Samsung released the Galaxy S21 and S21 Plus in January 2021. Now, an anonymous tipster who goes by the name of IceUniverse has revealed major details of the upcoming version, the Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra, ahead of its launch. Combined with a new video from Front Page Tech's Jon Prosser, which shows off the physical hardware of the phone, we now know a lot more about what the S22 Ultra could offer.
The largest change with the S22 Ultra here is its Galaxy Note-esque design. Samsung had been said to be killing off the Note as the S and Note lines converged over the years and as the Galaxy Z Flip and Fold lines became the focus in terms of its innovative devices. However, the squared-off design and embedded S-Pen still had their fans, and even carrier partners were complaining about the lack of a Note. The S22 Ultra, if these rumors prove accurate, would be an attempt to win back (or retain) those fans.
The phone is expected to have a QHD+ 6.8-inch screen with a 120 Hz AMOLED display, as well as slightly curved edges, similar to the Samsung Galaxy Note 10 Plus. The rear panel of the new smartphone has also been slightly altered, unlike the Galaxy S22 and S22 Plus. The leaker has also revealed that the phone is expected to have the highest brightness on any of Samsung's smartphones at around 1800 nits.

Samsung's Galaxy Buds 2 are on the way and a new leak from a popular Twitter leaker gives us basically everything Samsung is planning to bring to the new Buds when they launch next week.

The report from leaker SnoopyTech claims that the Galaxy Buds 2 will come with Bluetooth 5.2, a 61mAh battery in each individual earbud, paired with a 472mAh charging case. Buyers should be able to expect 55 minutes of battery with 5 minutes of case time, and the overall device is rated for 18 total hours of listening with active noise cancellation (ANC) enabled and 28 hours without. This will get you five hours of straight listening with ANC enabled, and 8 hours without. In essence, a full workday. There is also said to be Qi charging support for wireless charging.
