Lenovo is finally bringing the ingenious design of the Yoga line to enterprise buyers and business travelers with three new ThinkPads. Each model is equipped with a specialized hinge that lets the notebook convert from laptop to tablet in seconds.
The Yoga 12, 14, and 15 share many of the same core specs, with a 720p front facing webcam and integrated Dolby Home Theater v4 speaker systems, all powered by a 5th generation Intel Core i5 or i7 processor.
All three batteries in the Yoga ThinkPad series are rated at 47 watt-hours. Each is built with four gigabytes of DDR3L RAM, with the option to upgrade to eight gigabytes for professionals who really need their laptops to hum along. Storage options include up to one terabyte of mechanical storage, up to 500GB in a hybrid/mechanical drive, or a variety of solid state drives that max out at 512GB.
Connectivity is provided through two USB 3.0 ports, one USB 2.0, HDMI out (which takes the form of a mini-HDMI out on the 12”), and a 4-in-1 SD card reader for expanded memory.
While all three systems have a lot in common the gap between the smallest and the largest starts to appear between the available screen options and the graphics card inside. While the 12 only has the choice of an Intel HD graphics chip, the Yoga 14 and 15 come with an optional boost from an unspecified Nvidia chip.
The Yoga 12 has a 12.5-inch display with a standard resolution of 1,366 x 768 with an optional 1080p panel. The 14-inch and 15-inch, meanwhile, come standard with a 1080p screen. All versions of the Yoga have touch, of course. A digitizer pen is standard for even more accurate touch input.
Lenovo says we’ll see the Yoga 12 and 15 on shelves this February starting at $999 and $1,199, respectively, with the 14 following close behind in May at $1,199.
