The 32-inch 32UD99 monitor is built for all-around performance, whether you’re watching movies or playing games on its rich, vibrant display. Further, it supports the latest HDR10 standard, which makes it a little more future-proof than some of its competitors.
Equipped with an IPS panel which LG claims is capable of displaying over 95 percent of the DCI-P3 color space, this monitor has the unique distinction of delivering pitch-perfect color accuracy alongside powerful gaming performance.
It’s also worth mentioning that the press release announcing these monitors is a bit vague on one important point: the ports. LG’s announcement proudly claims the 32-inch 32UD99 will feature a USB Type-C port, but the language suggests that the monitor might kick HDMI and DisplayPort to the curb.
“The monitor’s USB Type-C port minimizes the number of unsightly cables while its borderless edges and slim ArcLine stand complete its refined image,” the release reads.
It goes on to describe how the monitor requires only “one single cable” to stream images, charge a connected laptop, and execute data transfers simultaneously. It wouldn’t be the first move LG has made toward ditching old standbys like HDMI and DisplayPort, as its UltraFine 5K monitor available through the Apple Store notoriously features only Thunderbolt and USB Type-C ports along with a power port.
In the same release LG also announced an impressive 34-inch monitor, which will be the first monitor to feature Chromecast integration. That’s right, the LG 34UM79M has a Chromecast built in, so you can stream all your favorite shows and movies without plugging in any additional dongles.
