It was mouse mania over at Logitech today as the computer accessories maker announced four new mice today. Get ready for the laser cordless MX610 (October – $59.99), dual laser cordless V400 (Available now – $49.99), cordless optical LX7 (This month – $39.99) and the Bluetooth cordless optical V270 (November – $49.99).
The MX610, Logitech said, has an on-board microprocessor which allows two way wireless communications with the computer for things like notification of email or instant messages, power saving mode and automatically changing channels during wireless interference. The MX610 also features laser tracking, 2.4GHz digital cordless technology and ten buttons.
The V400, like the MX610, uses laser technology for tracking. It actually features dual lasers which measure changes in the frequency of reflected light for more accurate tracking results, according to Logitech. Other features of the V400 include a USB micro receiver which tucks inside a storage slot in the mouse, a shock resistant exoskeleton with a reinforced frame, 2.4GHz digital cordless technology and an integrated battery light indicator.
The LX7, like the other mice, is optical and uses wireless technology to communicate to a USB micro receiver. Major features on this more budget minded mouse, said Logitech, include a smart power management system, ambidextrous usage, a soft touch, rubberized grip and three different color combinations.
Last, but not least, is the Bluetooth enabled V270. Geared towards those who use notebooks, Logitech said the V270 uses Bluetooth 1.2 wireless technology to communicate with notebook PCs and Apple PowerBook notebooks that have an integrated Bluetooth receiver. This particular mouse has standard the smart power management system with battery indicator light and a 1000 dpi optical tracking engine.
