Following on from a myriad of recent product launches, Logitech today announced a further wave of new product launches from their desktop input devices range.

Boasting faster data transfer with the implementation of Bluetooth 2.0 EDR technology, greater mouse precision and higher quality VoIP phone calls, the diNovo Media Desktop Laser retains the original charms of Logitech’s flagship solution with the detachable diNovo MediaPad and a slim, curved design, appealing to the more refined palate.

Coming with an equally refined price tag of $199.99 MSRP, the Logitech diNovo Media Desktop Laser is expected to be available in October.

Moving towards the middle ground, Logitech also announced the MX 5000 Desktop Laser, again joined in fusion with Logitech’s MX 1000 Laser Cordless mouse, the new solution features not only a LCD used to display a plethora of information and perform a number of functions, but also again featuring Bluetooth 2.0 EDR technology and a range of user friendly enhancements from Logitech’s ‘SecureConnect’ technology and Smart Power Management, boosted by power on/off switches on both the keyboard and rechargeable mouse to conserve power.

With the integrated LCD displaying information ranging from e-mail and instant messaging (IM) notifications to keyboard status indications, the LCD dashboard also relays information such as room temperature, battery level and the current time/date, all part of Logitech’s desire to remove visual clutter from the visual display unit.

Again having expected availability in October 2005, Logitech announce the MX 5000 Desktop Laser with a MSRP of $149.99.

The hat trick of new Logitech releases concludes with the announced Cordless Desktop S 510 Media Remote solution.

Utilising 27MHz wireless technology, the desktop set aims to improve users ability to not only share, but also experience their digital media, without having to be reliant on their computer through the implementation of the Media Remote.

Citing a range of 16 feet, Logitech quote compatibility of the Media Remote with a range of applications from iTunes and WinAmp, to Windows Media Player and Musicmatch, together with programmable customisability using Logitech’s SetPoint software. Logitech’s MediaLife software, also teamed with the solution, provided a full-screen interface drawing together music, pictures and videos on the computer system.

With the keyboard featuring Logitech’s tried and tested ‘Zero Degree Tilt’ design, a large integrated palm rest has been accounted for in the design to improve user comfort levels and an optional USB stand to house the USB mini-receiver is also provided. Functioning with the USB mini-receiver, the mouse and remote can be used as mobile solutions.

Featuring an 800dpi mouse, Logitech quote an expected six months or more battery life expectancy with normal usage levels for the keyboard, with the mouse solution coming in with expectations of eight months or more.

With expected availability in September, the Cordless Desktop S 510 Media Remote solution is released with an MSRP of $99.99. A version without the Media Remote or USB mini-receiver, named as the Cordless Desktop S 510, is also announced for availability within the same time frame and with an MSRP of $79.99.
