Meet Digital Foci’s Media Buddy

Digital Foci, a maker of digital content management devices, today unveiled the Media Buddy portable digital photo storage unit. Available in three colors (blue, silver, gray) and four hard drive storage capacities (30GB, 40GB, 60GB, 80GB), it is available now for a starting price of $229.

The Media Buddy, which has a backlit text-based LCD screen to view file information and operation status, works by allowing users to insert one of a variety of supported media cards (CF I/II, MD, SM, xD-Picture Card, MMC, SD Card, miniSD with adapter, Memory Stick, MS PRO, MS Duo, and MS PRO Duo) into it and transfer the images from the card to the Buddy’s hard drive via one touch operation. This external hard drive also supports USB 2.0, so it can be used to back up files from PCs and Macs as well.
