Next Tuesday sees the release of Microsoft’s monthly security patch, and this time five bulletins are anticipated, one critical and four important.
The critical flaw – critical being Microsoft’s highest rating – relates to Windows OS, is caused by a remote code execution. A second bulletin focuses on another remote codeexecution bug that affects MSN Messengers 6.2, 7.0, 7.5 and Windows Live Messenger 8.0. A third bulletin deals with a remote code execution flaw in Visual Studio, while the advancenotification alert issued by Microsoft noted that a fourth will deal with Windows Vista. This is a calmer month than August, which saw the biggest patch release of the year, which saw ninesecurity bulletins covering a total of 14 vulnerabilities.
