Nvidia reveals new Titan Black, 750Ti, 750 Maxwell graphics cards

Nvidia just fired the latest salvo in its ongoing graphics cards war with competitor AMD with the release of a trio of new graphics cards: the GeForce GTX Titan Black, GeForce GTX 750 Ti, and the GeForce GTX 750.

The Titan Black replaces the Titan, which is no longer being sold. Meanwhile, the 750 Ti and the 750 are both powered by Nvidia’s new Maxwell architecture. According to Nvidia, when compared with a GTX 550 Ti, which you can currently grab for about $105 via Froogle, the 750 Ti offers double the performance while also consuming half the power. If accurate, those stats are quite impressive.

Considering that the 750 Ti draws very little power, you likely won’t need to swap out your power supply for a new juice box thanks to this card’s minuscule energy demands. Nvidia claims that it can even be used with power supplies as low as 300 watts, and the 750 Ti doesn’t require a power connector. Just slot it in into your motherboard and go. Same for the GeForce GTX 750.

The Titan Black, Nvidia’s brand new high-end card, is powered by 2,880 CUDA cores, a base clock of 889 MHz,  980 MHz boost clock, 6GB of 384-bit GDDR5. It also packs HDMI and DisplayPort connectors, and a pair of DVI ports.

The 750 Ti’s specs include 640 CUDA cores, a base clock of 1,020 MHz, a boost clock of 1,085 MHz, up to 2GB of 128-bit GDDR5 RAM (though 1GB models will also be available), mini-HDMI, a pair of DVI ports, and an optional DisplayPort connector. Meanwhile, the 750 includes 512 CUDA cores, a 1,020 MHz base clock, 1,085 MHz boost clock, 1GB of 128-bit GDDR5 RAM, and the same ports found on the 750 Ti.

Here’s how the new Maxwell architecture stacks up with Kepler, Nvidia’s previous tech.

Maxwell KeplerAll three cards, the Titan Black, 750 Ti, and 750, are available right now. The Titan Black is priced at $999, the same exact rate for the original Titan. The 2GB GeForce GTX 750 Ti is going for $149, while the 1GB version sports a $139 price tag. As you might have predicted, the cheapest card of the bunch is the GeForce GTX 750, priced at $119.

If you have an old PC that’s in dire need of an upgrade but can’t spend a couple of hundred dollars in order the pull it off, the 750 Ti is probably right up your alley.

Nvidia’s new RTX 3070 Ti graphics card hit stores today and sold out in minutes
Nvidia's RTX 3070 Ti graphics card.

The new Nvidia GeForce RTX 3070 Ti graphics card released today, June 10. The card was put on sale at a number of online retailers in the early morning. Unfortunately for those who hoped to snag one, Nvidia's latest GPU sold out almost as soon as it was made available. It seems that history likes to repeat itself: Last week's hot release, the GeForce RTX 3080 Ti, also sold out in minutes.

While many tried to get their hands on the new RTX 3070 Ti, there was only a short time frame before the card was sold out on most, if not all, websites. It was briefly available on Amazon, Newegg, BH Photo, Nvidia's online store, and from several other retailers. Best Buy has delayed the release of the card by over seven hours, resulting in countless users refreshing the website for hours on end. Once the cards were put on sale, they were gone within seconds.

After photos of a shipping container holding Nvidia's rumored RTX 3080 Ti were spotted this week, VideoCardz leaked new information about the upcoming card. The card is rumored to launch May 26 for $999, and it will feature 12GB of VRAM and a redesigned GPU that will reportedly limit the cryptocurrency mining hash rate.

You can see a leaked photo of this redesigned GPU below. It's the GA102-225, which is built off the existing GA102 GPU inside the RTX 3080 and 3090. Alongside the 3080 Ti, leakers claim that Nvidia will rerelease its entire Ampere line with updated graphics cores in May and those cards will feature a cryptocurrency hash rate limiter and Resizable BAR support.

Lenovo just revealed the Nvidia GeForce RTX 3050 Ti and RTX 3050
RTX 30-series laptops.

Although Nvidia hasn't formally unveiled the RTX 3050 and RTX 3050 Ti, it's inevitable that the two budget GPUs will show up in laptops eventually. Lenovo jumped the gun a bit, however, revealing the 3050 and 3050 Ti as options in its upcoming Legion 5 Pro laptop. Along with confirming the cards exist, Lenovo also posted the clock speed, memory capacity, and power of the two mobile graphics cards.

Videocardz grabbed a screenshot of the specs page before Lenovo updated the listing (the section now reads "up to Nvidia GeForce RTX 3070" instead). The listing shows the RTX 3050 Ti with 4GB of GDDR6 memory, a listed boost clock of 1,485MHz, and a maximum power draw of 95 watts. The RTX 3050 is identical, though oddly comes with a higher listed and achieved boost clock speed.
